That rendering quality is exactly why it struggles on a ship. It is a graphics-first app on a bandwidth-starved connection. It also has no real offline story, so a Ventusky screenshot is more useful than the app itself when you walk away from the WiFi.

Where it earns its place is in port with decent local data on your own eSIM.
